After Joleen was widowed in February of 2024, she had a hard time thinking about a future of any kind. She jokingly said a month after her late husband passed if she ever got married again he would have to drive a truck, play the guitar and be five years younger. God was listening to these silly desires she had.

On September 7th, Joleen prayed a bold but quirky prayer. She realized a couple weeks prior to this day that she could not continue in the state of sorrow and despair she found herself in. She made the crazy bold decision to dip her toes in the terrifying waters of Facebook dating. It did not go well. People be crazy! So on September 7th she laid a fleece before the Lord. “Lord I don’t know what your plans are for me. If they include a future of companionship, can you please bring him to me sooner rather than later? Can you use the Facebook algorithm to show my profile to the man you would have for me? If championship is not in my future, can you please remove this desire?” Four days later, Michael “hearted” her profile. It was a terrible profile! His pictures were bland BUT she could tell that he loved Jesus with all his heart in what he wrote. So, she took the chance and matched with him. From that day forward they have been talking every day without fail.
